Aci Catena (Catania), he commits a theft but the Carabinieri reach him at home. Reported and the stolen goods recovered

The 39-year-old from Aci Catena was convinced he had gotten away with it when, the other morning, aboard his Fiat Punto, he reached a discount store in San Giovanni la Punta and there filled a bag with numerous packages and boxes of salmon and tuna, then left without paying.
In particular, the man had entered the supermarket with a hard plastic bag and had begun to wander among the shelves, choosing expensive groceries, placing them in the bag. Then, however, instead of paying, he had taken the exit dedicated to those who do not shop and, immediately, had gotten into his car and fled.

The theft, however, did not escape the attention of the market manager who, while the man was in the parking lot, managed to see the model and some details of the car, a Fiat Punto, and immediately called 112 NUE, also providing a detailed identikit of the subject.
The operators of the Operations Centre, having received the report, immediately started the first investigations, providing all the information acquired up to that moment to the patrols in the territory.. Thanks to the precise description of the subject and the vehicle, the Carabinieri of Aci Catena, with their in-depth knowledge of the territory and the local criminal context, quickly understood who the suspect could be, a 39-year-old resident of that municipality.

The investigators, therefore, reached the man's residential address, catching him aboard the Punto that he had parked right in front of the house.
Unbelieving at having been discovered in such a short time, especially for a theft committed in a place far away from there, the thief did not even have time to hide the stolen goods, which the soldiers recovered from the passenger seat.

The 39-year-old was therefore taken to the police station where, in the meantime, the manager of the discount store had filed a complaint for theft and then reported him to the Judicial Authority for "aggravated theft", while the recovered goods, worth several hundred euros, were returned.
