Carlentini: Attempts to Stab to Death a Peer, 20-Year-Old Arrested
The Carabinieri of the Carlentini Station have a 20-year-old man arrested in execution of a provision of concurrent penalties against sentenced at liberty issued by the Juvenile Court, Criminal Enforcement Office, of Catania. The young man, with a criminal record, was sentenced to 6 years and 4 months for the attempted murder of a peer occurred in August 2021 in the square in front of a nightclub in Misterbianco, in the province of Catania. On that occasion, the young man, then 17 years old, had stabbed a 23-year-old during an argument that arose over trivial reasons.
The 20-year-old was also found responsible for an armed robbery saleswoman with face covered by balaclava in June 2021 in Carlentini (SR), against the owner of a barber shop. On that occasion, the young man, together with an accomplice, had robbed a 66-year-old barber shop owner by threatening him with a gun, and was subsequently identified thanks to video surveillance footage and the statements of several witnesses. The arrested person was taken to the Juvenile Penal Institute of Catania “Bicocca”.
