Catania: 61-year-old arrested with a revolver on the street.

In prime time, the Carabinieri of the Operational Nucleus of the Catania Company Piazza Dante they arrested a 61 year old from Catania, already known to Law enforcement for previous judicial matters, to illegal possession and carrying of a common firearm.

The military personnel of the Arma, engaged in a crime-fighting service generally in plain clothes in the neighborhood “Saint Christopher”, in transit in Via Di Giacomo, on the corner with Pispisella courtyard, they noticed a man who, presumably aware of the presence of the operators, he started walking with faster pace, trying to get away from the road as soon as possible.

In addition to the fact that the investigators were suspicious, clear intent of the man to escape control, it was the fact that the subject he was holding a black envelope in his hands. Once stopped, the man, identified as 61-year-old resident of Catania, showed obvious signs of nervousness, looking around and failing to provide no explanation as to why he was present in that area.

When asked by the military about the contents of the envelope, the man did not provide an answer, limiting himself to hand it over spontaneously to the Carabinieri. Inside, the officers found a drum guna whirlpool bath, perfectly functioning and oiled revolver, complete of freshman.

Investigations were immediately carried out on the weapon, from which it emerged that Its theft had been reported last October from a house located in Imola (BO). The revolver was seized, while the 61-year-old was placed at the disposal of the Judicial Authority, which subsequently the arrest was validated.
