Vitulazio (Caserta), beats his wife and keeps her confined to the house, injured and bedridden. 76-year-old arrested by the Carabinieri

The 76 year old from Naples, resident in Vitulazio, in the Caserta area, he was arrested in the late afternoon by the Carabinieri of the local station because he was considered responsible for mistreatment in the family towards his 74-year-old wife.

This time it was the victim's sister who dialed the emergency number "112" and asked for immediate help from the Carabinieri. She had also been attacked by the man yesterday afternoon, after she had tried to visit her.

The 71-year-old, also from Naples, worried because she had been unable to contact her older sister for a few days, without losing heart, reached the small town of Vitulazio but, as soon as she knocked on the door, she encountered the wrath of her brother-in-law who immediately attacked and threatened her, forbidding her to enter.

A few minutes later, the Carabinieri, to whom the woman had turned for help, intervened, finding her still shocked and worried about her safety and that of her sister.

Inside the house, where the attacker had taken refuge, the Carabinieri found the presence of the 74-year-old wife, wounded and bedridden, who, at the sight of the Carabinieri, reassured by their presence, immediately reported the death threats, insults and beatings inflicted on her by her husband within the domestic walls.

The woman specified that she had been suffering from her husband's violence for several years without ever reporting it and that the last episode had occurred on October 24th when, for trivial reasons, after having violently grabbed her, he had made her fall to the ground causing him a back injury, never reported, which had forced her to an unbearable state of bed rest for over a month.

Finally, exhausted by the unbearable pain, she reported that her husband, especially in the last period, forbade friends and relatives from visiting her.

After the formal complaint was filed, the military stopped the 76-year-old, still present in the apartment, and took him to the barracks where he was arrested and placed under house arrest at the home of a relative living in another municipality.
