Marcianise (Caserta), with a bulldozer attempted to remove the bank's armored cabinet with safety deposit boxes, causing serious damage to the building

There were at least 4 criminals, all with their faces covered, who this night, around 04.00, in via Campania, using a bulldozer, attempted to steal the armored cabinet with the safety deposit boxes from the branch of the “Banca di Credito Popolare”, tearing down the entrance to the branch.

The robbery was not successful because the criminals, disturbed by the Bank's immediate sound alarm, managed to escape before the intervention of the Carabinieri who arrived on the scene within a few minutes.

On this occasion, the criminals blocked the two entrances to Via San Giuliano, a road perpendicular to Via Campania, using an articulated lorry and its tractor unit from which they unloaded the bulldozer, as well as a medium-sized car, which they then abandoned on site.

The criminals apparently used a second car to escape.

The Carabinieri of the Marcianise Company are investigating the case and have carried out the relevant surveys and seized the bulldozer, the articulated lorry with its trailer and the medium-sized car in order to search for elements useful for the investigation.

Investigators are also examining images from video surveillance systems present on site.
