Carinola (Caserta), giant slingshot discovered to throw cell phones to inmates in prison: two people reported

 The 6 cell phones and related chargers seized on Thursday 04 July were probably intended for inmates of the Carinola prisonand at our Carabinieri from the local station to a 38 year old from Pontecagnano (Salerno) and to a 25 year old from Torre Annunziata (Naples).

A giant slingshot suitable for long-range launch was also seized.

When were checked by the Carabinieri, the two were on board an Opel Corsa car, stopped at the edge of the road, in via Annunziata di Carinola (Caserta), in about 200 meters from the local prison.

Initially arousing the suspicion of the Carabinieri, who they decided to proceed with checking the occupants, it was the unjustified presence of that vehicle in an isolated area close to the prison.  It was then the strong smell of cannabis, coming from the passenger compartment a induce the military personnel to carry out a personal and vehicular search which he allowed them to find and seize, plus a few grams of hashish, also 6 cell phones with relative chargers as well as one giant slingshot with metal rods, suitable for throwing objects at long range.

The cell phones as well as the slingshot were found in the back seat. Smartphones, in particular, were encased inside special shapes made of expanded polyurethane foam and therefore packaged so as not to suffer damage following a fall.

The two, one of whom (the 25 year old) with also the Special Surveillance Measures and the obligation to report to the Judicial Police, I am were reported for receiving stolen goods.
