Castel Volturno: he pretends to be a courier and collects other people's packages worth over 400 euros, 53-year-old reported

The 53-year-old from Naples was stopped on the morning of January 16, 2025, by the Carabinieri of the Mondragone Territorial Department in via Mezzagni in Castel Volturno, where, Pretending to be a courier, he had already collected two large packages containing foodstuffs which were found to have been purchased online on an e-commerce platform.

Following immediate investigations, the military confirmed that the man, through the improper use of platform access credentials and a credit card activated with fictitious identification data, had managed to access the sales platform, acquiring the information necessary to identify shipments of products of interest to him.

During the immediate personal and home search carried out on the same, the carabinieri found various documents in his possession, including copies of identity documents belonging to third parties, credit cards and credentials for accessing emails and e-commerce sites of other unaware people. The items found were seized.

After the ritual formalities the 53-year-old was reported in a state of freedom. He will have to answer for impersonation, aggravated fraud, improper use and falsification of payment instruments other than cash.
