Caserta, tight controls by the Carabinieri. 2 arrests and 9 reports

Two arrests and nine reports at large are the result of the coordinated wide-ranging operation carried out last night by the Carabinieri of the Caserta Company.

The ten patrols, belonging to the Operational and Radiomobile Nucleus and to the Carabinieri Stations, located in the town centre and along the main connecting roads with the neighbouring municipalities they allowed, from late yesterday evening until the early hours of this morning, to proceed with the checks of 180 people and 57 vehicles with the notification of 65 traffic violations for a total amount of approximately 35.000,00 euros.

During the checks, the military reported five young people to the local government office as users, as they were found in possession of small quantities of hashish.

The checks aimed at protecting road safety, however, led to the seizure of seven vehicles, the administrative detention of three cars and the withdrawal of five driving licenses.

Nine people were reported for illegal possession of weapons, driving under the influence of alcohol, possession of false driving documents, violation of the provisions imposed by the special surveillance of the State Police with the obligation to reside, possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing.

At the same time, a folding knife with a 17 cm blade, a baseball bat and two wooden truncheons were seized.

Shortly after 23.00:XNUMX p.m., patrols from the Caserta Company's Radiomobile Section and those from the Casagiove Station intercepted a white Renault Twingo with two people on board in Piazza della Seta.

The driver, ignoring the order to stop given by the Carabinieri, first attempted to run over the military selector and then, suddenly accelerating, continued his journey in the direction of the locality of Vaccheria.

They were immediately chased and caught up with and stopped after a few hundred meters.

The two young men, aged 20 and 16, from the Naples and Caserta areas, immediately appeared nervous and intolerant of the controls and were searched by the military.

The 20-year-old, particularly aggressive and violent, was found in possession of ten cellophane packages containing numerous doses of cocaine and 624,00 euros in cash divided into banknotes of various denominations.

Inside the car, which was found to be a rental, a metal knuckle-duster hidden in the glove compartment of the driver's seat, two precision scales, material for packaging the narcotic substance, a mobile phone, four plastic and metal scissors, a shiny metal butcher's cleaver, with a total length of 29 cm of which 17 cm is the blade only, with a wooden handle and a kitchen knife were found.

The drugs, money and material found were seized.

The 20-year-old, accompanied to the barracks, was arrested and taken to house arrest. He will have to answer for possession with intent to sell narcotics and illegal possession of weapons or objects capable of offending.
