THEextradition It took place in execution of the European arrest warrant issued by the Attorney General's Office at the Court of Appeal of Naples, following theDelli Paoli's escape from Carinola prison (EC), which occurred on 30 December 2024.

In particular, the extradited person – detained since 12 February 1994 because he was subjected to the definitive sentence oflife sentence for murder aggravated by mafia methods – at the end of the release period granted by the Surveillance Magistrate of Santa Maria Capua Vetere, he had not returned to the Carinola (CE) prison.

During the investigations coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Naples – District Anti-Mafia Directorate and aimed at the research of Delli Paoli, as well as at identifying the individuals who would have facilitated his absconding, personnel from the State Police and the Carabinieri had acquired information from the French Police Authorities about the identification and theDelli Paoli's arrest on January 15 last, in Strasbourg, where he himself had started a protest demonstration in front of the European Parliament.

By Antonio Delli Paoli is one historical exponent of the clan of one of the criminal groups adhering to the Dei Casalesi clan and in particular of the Piccolo clan alias “Quaqquaroni”, operating in the province of Caserta in the territory of marcianise, where for about twenty years, From 1986 to 2007, there was a real war between two opposing criminal factions for dominance over the territory.

It is the war between the Belforte group, alias “Mazzacane”, of Cutolo extraction, and the Piccolo group, alias “Quaqquaroni”, connected to the New Family, from the names of the leading families around which the respective acolytes gathered.

La rivalry between Camorra clans belonging to the Piccolo and Belforte families arises from contrast between Raffaele Cutolo's "New Organized Camorra" and the "New Family", traceable back to the traditional Camorra clans, and has caused dozens of murders of exponents of both warring factions.
