16-Year-Old Arrested for Attempted Murder of Mother in Camigliano

The 16-year-old who was arrested by the Carabinieri after stabbing his mother multiple times in the chest and shoulder will have to answer for attempted murder. It was around 02.00 am when a woman knocked on the intercom of the Carabinieri Station of Pignataro Maggiore, in the Caserta area, reporting that in the nearby centre of Camigliano a young man had just stabbed his own mother. The operator of the Capua Operations Centre, to whom the intercom call had been automatically transferred, within a few minutes sent to the site two patrols from the Operations and Radiomobile Unit and from the local Station, already in circulation for a territorial control service.

The military personnel of the Arma, having arrived at the reported house, they found the victim lying on the floor with obvious wounds to the chest and shoulders, who had already been assisted by the medical personnel of the "118" service who was arranging for her transport, by ambulance, to the civil hospital of Sessa Aurunca. The woman, shortly after, was admitted to that hospital where the doctors, after having ascertained that the blows had not hit vital points, treated her and kept her under observation. Locked in one of the rooms of the apartment, the carabinieri identified, during the search, the victim's son who, at their request and without resistance, opened the door and handed himself over.

According to the first reconstruction of the event, carried out by the military of the Pignataro Maggiore Station, the attacker, only 16 years old, after having taken a knife from the kitchen, for trivial reasons, allegedly attacked his own mother with at least three stabs, not fatal, wounding her in various parts of the chest and shoulders. The boy was taken to the barracks where, after the formal procedures, he was taken to the juvenile justice centre in Naples – Colli Aminei, available from the juvenile court.
