San Marco Evangelista (Caserta), stopped for a check, was found in possession of cocaine and an 80cm stick. 63-year-old arrested by the Carabinieri

In San Marco Evangelista a 63 year old local man, stopped for a check by the Carabinieri of the San Nicola La Strada Station, he was found in possession of 0,65 gr. of a narcotic substance of the cocaine type and a stick measuring 80 cm.

The man, who was travelling on board his Opel Zafira, at the sight of the carabinieri who were carrying out a checkpoint in via 8 marzo in the municipality of San Marco Evangelista he tried to hide something in his hands. This attitude did not escape the attention of the military personnel who stopped him. When searched, he was found in possession of 0,65 grams of cocaine and the sum of 940 euros in banknotes of various denominations.

Inside the car, lying on the floor behind the passenger seat, the carabinieri also found and seized a stick 80 cm long and 3 cm thick. A search was then carried out at his home with a negative result. While this judicial police activity was being completed, a phone call arrived on one of the two telephone numbers in the possession of the detainee in which the interlocutor announced his imminent arrival.

Having realized that it could be a hypothetical buyer, the Carabinieri waited for his arrival and once outside the house they surprised him with two €20 notes in his hand. Faced with the evidence of the facts, the man, who had arrived in the company of another person, could do nothing but admit that he had gone to the 63-year-old's house to buy drugs.

The arrested man was placed under house arrest pending the celebration of the direct trial.
