Calabria: School Voucher Expensive, Caracciolo: “Payments Made for Over 12 Students

"There are 12.835 students who have been paid the regional scholarship amount. We will soon complete the payments for approximately another 2.200 applications that, despite having the admissibility requirements, presented irregularities. For another 2.060 applications admitted with reservations that have not regularized within the indicated terms, the possibility of assigning an additional term has been foreseen".

This was communicated by the education councillor of the Calabria Region, Maria Stefania Caracciolo.

“The great support for this initiative, with 19 thousand applications received, of which over 17 thousand were admitted to funding, aimed at secondary school students belonging to low and medium income families – continues the regional councillor for Education – demonstrates the importance of the measure which intervenes precisely to deal with the 'high cost of school' and respond to the needs of Calabrian families by providing concrete financial support for the expenses they incurred at the beginning of the school year".

Amounts to 16 million euros is the sum allocated for two years with the intention of financing a total of 36 thousand scholarships to be awarded on the basis of an ISEE indicator not exceeding 15.748,78 euros.

“Together with the President Eyes our goal – concludes the councilor Caracciolo – is to guarantee a rapid disbursement of the benefit to all those admitted, allowing families to cope with the costs deriving from the purchase of school supplies. An important measure to help stem the phenomenon of school dropout by ensuring the attendance of students belonging to low- and medium-income families”.
