Corigliano Rossano: they try to escape the control of the Carabinieri, three people from Corigliano arrested.

Yesterday afternoon the NORM Carabinieri. – Operational and Radiomobile Unit – of the Territorial Department of Corigliano Rossano, with the investigative coordination of the Castrovillari Public Prosecutor's Office, directed by the Chief Prosecutor Alessandro D'Alessio, arrested the convicted criminal DGT cl. 78 and the CF pair cl. 88 and FC cl 97, all seriously suspected for lto possession of over 2,2 kg of pure cocaine and the first also of the crime of "resisting a public official".

What attracted the attention of the Carabinieri employed in territorial control services were the risky maneuvers of two cars, a Mercedes «Class B» and an Audi «Q3», which proceeded at a distance from each other, but with a perfectly identical and at extremely high speed. The two cars were noticed at the exit of the "Tarsia Nord" motorway, from where they then crossed the municipality of Spezzano Albanese, until arriving in the Apollinara district of Corigliano.

Considering that the vehicles represented a real danger for other road users and considering that that behavior could conceal other potentially illicit conduct, more police vehicles were brought to the scene and, in constant coordination with the Public Prosecutor's Office of Castrovillari , they opted to order the two vehicles to stop and proceed to check their occupants.

Before continuing with the reconstruction of the facts, it seems appropriate to specify that the news is disseminated to guarantee the prerogatives of information and in respect of the rights of the suspects - who still have to be considered subject to the presumption of innocence pending the current phase of the proceedings, whose Criminal responsibilities can only be ascertained through a sentence that has become irrevocable.

In that context, the soldiers employed in the verification implemented all the safety procedures in order to prevent any accidents but, despite the precautions taken, the driver of the Audi tried to prevent their action by trying to block the road to the Army's cars. and trying to encourage the escape of the other two subjects on board the Mercedes.

A reckless maneuver which, fortunately, ended without any collision and which did not have the desired effects.

In fact, the operators managed to stop both vehicles and, having assessed the circumstances and the legal requirements, proceeded to search the stopped subjects.
The search operations carried out in the vehicles made it possible to recover, in the couple's car, a backpack with two blocks of pure cocaine inside, with a total weight of over 2,2 kilograms, while a sum was found in the other person's possession, the amount of which was not justified and, for this reason, it was subjected to criminal seizure.
The three arrested people, after the legal duties, were associated with the Castrovillari prison, where they will remain at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
The restrictive measure, adopted in the act of violation, demonstrates how the attention of the Carabinieri and the Judiciary to drug-related crimes continues to remain extremely high.

The operation described undoubtedly made it possible to avoid how a significant quantity of drugs could end up in the drug dealing squares of the Riviera.
