Merano: State Police hosts orphans and widows of Ukrainian police officers killed on the Donbass front

The State Police hosted 10 Ukrainian children, aged between 7 and 12, who, together with their mothers, spent a week in Alto Adige at the Stifterhof Castle, a Mountain Holiday Centre of the State Police located in Maia Alta.

In the context of the action of closeness and support to the Ukrainian Police desired and created by the Chief of Police - General Director of Public Security, Prefect Vittorio Pisani, last week a particularly anticipated and significant event took place in Merano.

The State Police, in fact, hosted 10 Ukrainian children, of the age between between 7 and 12 years old, which, together with their moms, they spent a week in South Tyrol at Stifterhof Castle, Mountain Holiday Centre of the State Police located in Maia Alta.

The little ones and their mothers, coming from the Regions of Donetsk, Kharkiv and Kiev, they are all orphans of Ukrainian policemen killed on the Donbass front during the war and, thanks to the hospitality of the State Police, they were able to spend a period of tranquility far from the horrors and privations of war.

During the week the Bolzano Police Headquarters organised a series of events to make your stay engaging, with the collaboration of the Municipality of Merano, the Merano Thermal Baths, the Merano Hippodrome, the “Obermais” Sports Facility of Merano, the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology, the MUSE of Trento and the THUN and LOACKER companies.

The Police Chief of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartori, in an event organized at the beginning of the stay at Stifterhof Castle in the presence of the Deputy Mayor of Merano Katharina Zeller, of Euphemia Esposito, Senior Director of the State Police, and other local authorities, greeted the little guests, wishing them a peaceful and joyful stay in Alto Adige.

Dr. Esposito, in extending the greetings of the Chief of Police, addressed her colleague Olena Laschuk, Head of International Relations of the Ukrainian Police, and to all the guests, best wishes for a rapid conclusion of the conflict and the testimony of the concrete support of the State Police, an institution that symbolizes the defense of the principles of freedom and the inviolable rights of the person.
