Brenner: Fugitive Arrested on International Train, 26-Year-Old Convict Stopped by Police.
The young man, wanted since last year and sentenced to 4 months in prison, was intercepted at the Italian-Austrian border and transferred to prison.

In the course of the usual border controls at the Brenner Pass, aimed at countering theclandestine immigration and drug trafficking, State Police agents they stopped a 26 year old Tunisian with criminal record on board the international train “RAIL-JET 87”, from Monaco of Bavaria and directed to Bologna Centrale.
The young man, without documents and train ticket, was subjected to a in-depth check in the offices of the Brenner Public Safety Commissioner. Cross-checks with the Database of the Ministry of the Interior they revealed that there was a Detention Order, issued in theOctober 2024 by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Trento.
The man had to serve a sentence of 4 months imprisonment and pay a fine of 6.300 euros for crimes related to drug dealing, insulting a public official and damage.
At the end of the formalities of Judicial Police, the 26-year-old was arrested and transferred to the Bolzano Prison, available to the Judicial Authority.
Il Police Chief of Bolzano, Paolo Sartori, also issued a Expulsion Decree, which will become operational once the sentence has been served.
“The search, identification and arrest of fugitives represents one of the priorities of the State Police – declared Police Commissioner Sartori – to guarantee the execution of sentences and to promote a re-educational path for reintegration into society.”
