A few nights ago, through the emergency number “112 NUE" a report had arrived at the Police Headquarters Operations Centre relative toremoval of an elderly lady in serious psycho-physical health conditions, guest of a Low small town.
Immediately a crew of the "Flying" team of the State Police had been sent to the Health facility in order to obtain further information from the staff on duty regarding the disappearance.
- Healthcare workers, therefore, they had provided the Agents with a photo of the lady and as many details as possible regarding the health conditions of the elderly woman and theclothing – very light, considering the harsh winter temperatures – worn at the time of her death; the Lady, suffering from the disease Alzheimer, it was probably leaving the clinic quietly and discreetly using the emergency stairs.
After having distributed the research to all the Police forces present in the area at that time, the Operations Centre of the Police Headquarters had immediately alerted the Fire fighters, Ambulances and Alpine Rescue and Search Staff, so as to better coordinate research in the area.
At around 4.20 am, finally, a patrol of the "Flying" Squad during a passage in the area of Historic Centre, had noticed the presence of the elderly lady at the height of the traffic light located at the intersection between via Cappuccini and via Marconi.
The Lady appeared in evident state of confusion, exhausted and cold; the policemen, therefore, had taken care of lending her the first attentions of the case, first of all making her sit inside the company car so that she could find shelter from the cold – as the lady was actually without suitable clothing to face the cold outside temperatures – and then take her back to the Low, where she was rescued and subjected to the necessary visits and treatments.
After making sure that the woman was in good health and safe, the Agents had taken leave and resumed regular duty.
