Bolzano: he wanders into a B&B to steal, hits and injures the face, Police arrests foreign offender.
A call was received at the Police Headquarters Operations Center, via the emergency number “112 NUE”, reporting a person who had attempted to enter the rooms of a hospitality facility on Via Gumer to commit thefts.
The patrol of the "Flying Squad" of the State Police, which arrived on the scene within moments, found that the criminal had already fled.
At 10.00 am, the same “Flying Squad” crew was sent back to the same reception facility as the same individual had managed to enter on the second attempt.
The man – later identified as HY, an 18-year-old Tunisian citizen illegally residing in the country and with numerous criminal and/or police records for similar crimes, including those committed as a minor, as well as for property crimes, aggravated personal injury, possession of narcotics for the purpose of dealing, violence and resistance to a public official, receiving stolen goods, home burglary, invasion of land and buildings, aggravated damage, aggravated robbery, personal injury to healthcare personnel, as well as the recipient of the Personal Prevention Measures of the Oral Public Safety Notice and the Mandatory Exit Notice from the South Tyrolean capital, both issued by the Police Chief of Bolzano – was immediately tracked down, stopped and made to get into the patrol car to be taken to the Police Headquarters.
Once inside the car, the young man began to heavily insult the Police officers, kick the door and attack the operating personnel, managing to hit the Patrol Leader with a violent punch in the face, seriously injuring him in one eye and causing injuries that are judged to heal in 7 days, barring further complications.
At the end of the Judicial Police proceedings, HY was arrested for the crimes of violence, resistance, threats and injuries to a Public Official, as well as reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of attempted theft.
The Police Chief of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Paolo Sartori, at the end of the Hearing to Validate the arrest and in consideration of the seriousness of what happened, the numerous and serious criminal records as well as the clandestine status of the subject, issued against HY an Expulsion Decree from the National Territory, with a simultaneous Order of Escort and Detention at the Repatriation Detention Center in Gradisca d'Isonzo (Gorizia), where already yesterday evening he was escorted by the Agents of the Immigration Office of the Bolzano Police Headquarters, awaiting to be transferred by flight to Tunisia as soon as possible.
“Yet another violent attack on a Police Officer during an intervention: the umpteenth, now, that has occurred in recent times in Bolzano – highlighted with regret the Police Commissioner Sartori –. It is unacceptable that those who represent the State, in enforcing the law, should systematically suffer insults and violence. For this reason it was decided to proceed with the arrest and removal from our country of those who have repeatedly demonstrated, even violently, that they do not respect its laws and institutions”.
