Bolzano: He suspects his wife of cheating with a colleague and forces her to resign. The State Police intervenes
I am in constant increase in requests for the application of the Personal Prevention Measure of WARNING which arrive daily to the Quaestor, a symptom, on the one hand, of an ever-increasing awareness, on the part of the victims, that it is necessary to promptly report to the competent Authorities any form of abuse, bullying and violence, and, on the other hand, that such aggressive behaviors are unfortunately in continuous increase in modern society.
In recent days, in this regard, a crew of the "Flying" team of the State Police and, subsequently, Police Personnel specialized in prevention and in repression of all forms of domestic and gender-based violence, intervened in a city district at the request of the Director of a Supermarket, which had deemed it appropriate to report to the Public Security Authority an episode he says is alarming and connected to an employee who had resigned.
Having arrived immediately at the indicated location, the Police officers, contrary to what had been hypothesized, did not find themselves faced with a conflict that arose in a professional context, but unexpectedly found themselves having to deal with a situation of domestic violence and obsessive harassment by a jealous husband towards his wife.
After unexpectedly and without apparent reason resigned as a Supermarket Clerk, the woman had been summoned by the Commercial Operations Manager for an interview: in fact, it was not possible to understand why the woman, an employee who was esteemed and well-liked by everyone, had decided to leave her job.
To the great surprise of the manager, at the interview, In addition to the employee, her husband also showed up, who insisted on attending the meeting at all costs.
The Director had managed to explain to the man with no small difficulty that Company policies did not allow outsiders to enter the Supermarket Offices, thus convincing him to stay outside, so that he could converse with the employee in the top secret.
Putting into conditions to calm down the woman had burst into a liberating cry, and then told the Director how the resignation had been granted to her imposed by her husband, who suspected her of cheating on him with a colleague.
The Director, incredulous at what she was hearing, decided to immediately have the Police; the agents, who arrived in a few moments, first identified themens and they took him away from the supermarket, and then they secured the woman, placing her in a protected facility.
Investigations are now continuing for better clarify family dynamics and for verify whether there are grounds to contest the man with any criminal responsibilities.
In light of what has emerged so far from the investigations carried out by the State Police, the Police Chief of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartori has issued against the husband the Personal Prevention Measure of the Warning to change behavior.
"There are more and more cases in which the Police Forces are called to intervene to deal with situations characterised by obsessive acts of persecution, often resulting in aggressive and violent behaviour, which in themselves represent, among other things, worrying manifestations of cultural problems. – highlighted the Police Commissioner Sartori.
The dynamics of this latest episode of violence and abuse further reinforce the idea of how the critical situations that afflict our society must necessarily be addressed by networking between institutions, local authorities, anti-violence centers and voluntary associations.
The State Police has always been at the forefront, also with specific projects, in indicating paths of awareness and consciousness of the disvalue of what has been committed, with the aim, also, of helping victims to defend themselves, to ask for help and to report the violence suffered.".
