Bolzano: robbery at the “ALDI” supermarket, security guard attacked with pepper spray.
By calling the Police Headquarters Operations Centre, using the emergency number “112 NUE”, a fight was reported in progress inside the supermarket “ALDI” of Corso Libertà, born following a theft.
The Agents of the Team's crew arrived immediately on site "Steering wheels" of State Police they contacted the supermarket manager, who indicated three young men, still very agitated, as responsible for a theft that turned into a robbery following the attack on the security guard.
Shortly before, a store employee had caught the group, consisting of three boys and a girl, hiding some bottles of alcoholic beverages and other merchandise inside a backpack.
THEsecurity officer, having been informed of what was happening, approached the exit and, after having ascertained that the group had passed the checkouts without paying for the hidden goods, invited them to stop and hand over what they had stolen.
At that point, the thieves reacted violently, threatening the clerk first verbally, then attacking him with shoving, a punch in the face and pepper spray, causing injuries to his face. Stunned by the attack, the security guard was forced to go to the emergency room, where he was treated for right jaw trauma and eye inflammation.
Taking advantage of the chaos, the girl managed to escape with the backpack containing part of the stolen goods.
The three criminals, immobilized by the police and led to the "Steering wheels", were identified at the Police Headquarters as:
- KN, 22-year-old Tunisian citizen with refugee status;
- LS, 18-year-old Tunisian citizen illegally residing in the national territory;
- un Tunisian citizen minor.
At the end of the proceedings of Judicial Police, the three were arrested for robbery in competition.
Il Police Chief of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartori, in view of the seriousness of the incident, immediately urged the Territorial Commission for Refugees to revoke the international protection status granted to KN, in order to issue an expulsion order. The expulsion was immediately ordered for LS, while investigations are underway to identify the accomplice.
“It is increasingly common for those who commit thefts in public establishments to react with violence, attacking security personnel and the Police Force,” declared Police Commissioner Sartori. “These situations require systematic interventions to avoid tragic consequences and to severely sanction those responsible.”
