At the Galleria Civica in Bolzano, the Trentino-Alto Adige Region exhibited about 60 works from its art collection. Kompatscher and Zanotelli: "A tribute to all women".

The exhibition “…Simply Women” was inaugurated at the Galleria Civica in Bolzano, organized by the Autonomous Region of Trentino-Alto Adige/Südtirol as part of the project “The Region Outside the Glass”, with the support of the Municipality of Bolzano.
The exhibition will be visible for free until March 11th and offers a reflection on the female figure through the works of artists from Trentino, Alto Adige and Ladin, who throughout the twentieth century up to the present day have represented and celebrated women in different artistic currents and cultural contexts. About 60 works, including paintings and sculptures, from the Art Collection of the Region, document how the female universe has always been at the center of artistic attention: from the woman idealized as an angel or temptress, to the figure who questions her own identity, up to the new image that emerged from the protests of the Sixties.
Among the portraits on display, the women of Rita Vivori, characterized by a gaze that transforms amazement into seduction and curiosity, testifying to the evolution of female representation. The artist has explored the theme of the female condition and its transformation in Italian society, between solidarity, contestation of roles and the search for a new identity.
The exhibition also includes the works by Conrad Bergman, Guido Polo, Paolo Dalponte, Michelangelo Perghem Gelmi and Luigi Degasperi, which offer a reflection on invisible women and the social dynamics that relegate them to marginal roles. Bepi Debiasi and Franco Murer they address the theme of the tempting woman, while The Belli, with his saga of ten tables, explores the myths of the Mediterranean through emblematic figures such as Helen of Troy and Phaedra.
They were unable to attend the inauguration due to institutional commitments, but the President of the Region Arno Kompatscher and the Vice President and Councilor for Heritage Giulia Zanotelli still wanted to bring their greetings.
"The exhibition aims to be a tribute to all the women who, with courage and determination, have contributed – and continue to contribute – to the cultural and social progress of our community – she highlighted Compatscher – and invites us to reflect on the theme of female representation and how it still influences, sometimes in a problematic way, the role of women in society".
"The works exhibited here testify not only to the talent and creativity of the artists, but also to their commitment to giving voice to the many facets of the female experience, from resilience to the fight for equality, from historical memory to the affirmation of one's own identity – she underlined Zanotelli –the Region will continue to support initiatives that promote culture and dialogue, recognizing the value of art as a tool for awareness and collective growth".
