Bolzano: He was wandering the streets brandishing a broken bottle as a weapon, 38-year-old reported
A call was received at the Police Headquarters Operations Centre, via the emergency number 112, reporting that some people armed with shards of glass, near Piazza Domenicani, they had started a violent fight outside a public establishment. The two patrols of the "Flying" Squad of the State Police, which quickly arrived at the reported location, acquired the first testimonies, from which it emerged that a few minutes before a foreign citizen had threatened two other individuals, one of whom, in response, broke a glass bottle, brandishing it at the other party without, however, making any physical contact.
The three, then, at the sight of the police car they had fled. Thanks to the descriptions received, a few moments later the Agents they managed to track down and stop in Piazza Stazione one of the three contenders still holding a shard of glass, which was immediately confiscated after being disarmed. Taken to the Police Headquarters, the subject was then identified as KY, a 38 year old Afghan citizen resident in Puglia, with no criminal record and in good standing on the national territory.
At the end of the proceedings, the man was reported at liberty to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of illegal possession of objects capable of causing offence. The Police Chief of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartori, in consideration of what has emerged, has issued against KY the Personal Prevention Measure of a Mandatory Exit Notice with a Ban on returning to the Municipality of Bolzano for the next 4 years.
"The timely request for intervention by the Police was essential in order to identify and report to the Judicial Authorities a criminal who was wandering around the streets of the capital brandishing a broken bottle as a weapon – he highlighted Commissioner Sartori –. The episode clearly demonstrates the importance of reporting any potentially dangerous situation to the police, in order to prevent the commission of crimes and to avoid the occurrence of real tragedies".
