Bolzano, violates the restraining order and attacks his ex-partner and the police. The State Police arrests a 40-year-old repeat offender
Unfortunately, requests for help are almost a daily occurrence, and the police are called upon to intervene urgently to deal with situations of domestic violence or stalking.
In this case, a patrol of the "Flying Squad" of the State Police, engaged in normal general prevention and territorial control services, after being alerted by a woman who had activated the emergency call for help, reporting that her ex-partner had shown up at her home despite being banned from approaching her person and the places she frequented, At dawn yesterday he intervened in a few moments in the Oltrisarco neighborhood to verify what had happened and provide assistance to the victim.
Once they arrived at the indicated location, the Agents were able to reconstruct the terrible story of violence and threats that the victim, during the night just gone by, had had to suffer from her ex-partner.
The latter, in fact, in the grip of an uncontrollable fit of violence and madness, had tried to break down the door of the apartment, hitting it with kicks and punches and shouting serious threats against it at the top of his lungs.
The woman, then, in a desperate attempt to calm the agitated man, had opened the door of the house slightly. The move, however, did not have the desired effect: the attacker, in fact, took advantage of the situation to enter the house in a fury and violently grab the victim's daughter by the hair.
The intervention of a neighbor, alerted and alarmed by the screams of the mother and daughter, and with the help of other residents, proved providential in managing to dissuade the subject from his violent intentions, and to make him move away.
While the police officers of the first "Flying Squad" ensured assistance to the victim, a second patrol, already in the process of patrolling the area, managed to track down the perpetrator in a few minutes.
This man, already known to the Police Forces as he is not new to such violent demonstrations – reason for which he had been the recipient of the precautionary measure of the Prohibition of Approach and Contact – Instead of calming down, he began to violently attack the police officers in a vain attempt to escape arrest, while at the same time making explicit threats of retaliation.
After having rendered him harmless, the policemen forcibly led the man to the police headquarters; here, at the end of the Judicial Police proceedings and in consideration of the seriousness of the incident and the recidivism in such behaviors, as well as having noted the violation of the Precautionary Measure issued by the Court of Bolzano, the subject was declared under arrest and placed at the disposal of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
For the same reasons, and considering the specific precedents of the attacker, the Police Commissioner of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartori has initiated the procedural process for the application of Special Public Security Surveillance against him.
"There are more and more cases in which the Police Forces are called to intervene to deal with violent episodes of mistreatment in the family, stalking and aggression, which represent, moreover, worrying manifestations of problems of a cultural nature. – highlighted Commissioner Sartori –. The singularity of this episode, in which the role of victim is played by a man, further reinforces the idea of how the critical situations that afflict our society must necessarily be addressed by networking between Institutions, Local Authorities, Anti-Violence Centers and Volunteer Associations. The State Police has always been at the forefront, also with specific Projects, in indicating paths of awareness and consciousness of the disvalue of what has been committed, with the aim, also, of helping victims to defend themselves, to ask for help and to report the violence suffered".
