Bolzano: Perpetrator of smashed windows of parked cars arrested, 31-year-old with criminal record reported.
The person believed to be the perpetrator of numerous "smashes" of windows of parked cars that occurred in the past few nights in various areas of our capital city has been identified, stopped and reported by the State Police.
In fact, during the night just gone by, the Agents of the "Flying" Squad of the Police Headquarters, during the usual patrolling of the streets of the historic center, affected on weekend evenings by a large presence of citizens and tourists, were called by some passers-by who had noticed a hooded woman wandering suspiciously among the parked cars in the area of via Cassa di Risparmio.
Having immediately arrived at the indicated location, the Police officers identified the reported woman who, at the sight of the Police, tried in vain to disappear.
The woman - later identified as such as CPG, a 31-year-old Italian citizen with numerous criminal and/or police records for various types of crimes such as, specifically, carrying objects capable of offending, resisting a public official, damage, receiving stolen goods and possession of narcotics, and recognized by the Agents as corresponding to the reports received by the Police Forces from several citizens, victims of "break-ins" to the detriment of their cars - since she had immediately shown herself to be particularly intolerant of the presence of the Police, was subjected to a more thorough check by the Agents.
At that moment the police found and seized a glass-breaking hammer and a pair of wire cutters, both hidden in the pockets of the jacket worn by CPG.
After being taken to the Police Headquarters, and at the end of the Judicial Police actions, she was then reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the crime of unjustified possession of objects suitable for burglary. Investigations aimed at reconstructing in detail the woman's further responsibilities are still underway.
The Police Chief of the Autonomous Province of Bolzano, Paolo Sartori, therefore, in consideration of what has emerged and the precedents against him, has issued against CPG the Personal Prevention Measure of a Mandatory Travel Notice, with a Prohibition to return to the Municipality of Bolzano for the next 3 years.
