Saturday afternoon 1 February a call has come to the Police Headquarters Operations Centre, through the emergency number “112 NUE”, for a report of a Theft in progress at the “Decathlon”, inside the “Twenty” Shopping Center.
The crews "Flying" team of the State Police, having arrived in a few moments at the indicated location, they immediately managed to block a young man corresponding to the descriptions provided.
At the Police Headquarters the young man was fully identified as such AM, 24 year old irregular Moroccan citizen on the territory of the State, with numerous criminal records and/or Police for property crime, homeless and arrived a few days ago from Romagna to take advantage of the "COLD EMERGENCY CENTERS".
The police, therefore, reconstructed what had happened shortly before: the Director of Commercial Operations he had noticed the young man who, after having hidden some clothes under his jacket, he passed the cash desk without paying, setting off the alarm; at this point the person in charge intervened and had the thief return the stolen goods, no longer resalable as the anti-theft systems had already been forcibly removed.
During the subsequent personal search, the officers found and seized in the backpack of the arrested person other stolen goods, as well as wire cutters and scissors, presumably used to commit crimes of the same nature.
At the end of the Judicial Police proceedings, AM was reported to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the crimes of Theft aggravated and unjustified possession of burglary tools.
Il Police Commissioner of the Province of Bolzano Paolo Sartori, therefore, in consideration of the seriousness of what happened, immediately issued a warning against him Expulsion Decree from the National Territory.
"Thefts in commercial establishments are particularly frequent, usually committed by criminals and homeless people, often surprised by security personnel thanks also to passive defense equipment, such as video cameras and anti-shoplifting alarm systems, appropriately installed by the owners of commercial businesses. – highlighted the Police Commissioner Sartori.
These measures are of fundamental importance also for deterrent purposes, and also allow the Police Forces called to intervene for investigative activities, to be able to use concrete elements to bring those responsible to Justice.".
