The world of juvenile prison from the TV screen to the Martinitt theatre

The world of juvenile prison from the TV screen to the Martinitt theatre.

In the wake of Albanese's film Grazie Ragazzi and the successful series Mare Fuori, the ironic and profound social theater of Bernardino De Bernardis returns to the Martinitt theatre, photographing the weaknesses with raw clarity but not without humor and a touch of romanticism. human, but always granting a hope of redemption.

On March 17th there will be “AND THEY LIVE HAPPY AND GUILTY” – by Bernardino De Bernardis, directed by Marco Simeoli. With Bernardino De Bernardis, Salvatore Riggi, Giorgia Lunghi, Mariano Viggiano, Francesco Romano and Francesco Piccirillo and with the extraordinary participation of Luca Negroni. Production La Libra.

The plot: Naples, early 2000s, in a suburban reformatory, 5 kids, a motivated but awkward social worker and the ambitious but inattentive director of the penal institute will be forced to confront their own ghosts. The boys, between expectations and the desire for redemption, will find themselves struggling with the staging of a show, Aristophanes' comedy "The Birds", proposed by the social worker (who in turn must deal with the past) but opposed by the director of the institute, rigid and cynical. The result is a clash-confrontation between the parties, but also of each with their own conscience. An intense show that sparks a lot of hilarity but also induces reflection. Expectations and uncertainties, lights and shadows, confrontations and subterfuges in a juvenile prison, where art enters to metaphorically open the bars. With all the strength, mockery, philosophy and irresistible sounds of Neapolitan acting. On stage until April 2nd.
